Booking South Dakota Hunts
Hunting in South Dakota is not overly physically demanding. Our spot-and-stalk South Dakota Mule Deer Hunting takes place in river breaks and ravines using an occasional ground blind for ambushes. Whitetails are hunted in river bottoms under heavy tree cover using tree-stands, box blinds, and some spot-and-stalk. Hunters should expect to walk less than a mile a day.
Hunters must bring all hunting equipment needed for the duration of the hunt. We do not provide any weapons, optics, clothing, packs, or hunting gear for clients. We do provide qualified guides, transportation during the hunt, food, lodging, and basic necessities.
All of our South Dakota Mule Deer Hunting is based out of the city of Pierre. This is in the central part of the state and direct flights are available. Flying directly into Pierre is strongly suggested; however Rapid City is the next best option. If you are flying into Pierre, there is a shuttle that will bring you to the hotel. If you are flying into Rapid City, then you will need to rent a car and drive approximately 2.5 hours to Pierre. Hunters are advised to arrive no earlier than noon on the day prior to the start of their hunt.
The weather in South Dakota can be extreme. Hunters should always prepare for sub-zero temperatures and snow, however most hunts take place during moderate temps of 10-60 degrees with some wind. Rain is also a possibility.
Accommodations and Trophy Care
Lodging for our South Dakota hunts is based out of one of the best hotels in Pierre. It offers such amenities such as maid service, laundry facilities, high-speed internet, and satellite TV. All rooms are booked for two hunters per room; however you may request a single room for an additional charge.
We dine out at various restaurants in Pierre as a group for all of our meals. We provide all of the food, water, and snacks that you will need for your entire hunt. We do not provide liquor or beer; however we do allow hunters to bring whatever they would like.
We take great care to cape your trophy and prepare it for your travel home. We will also provide you transportation from the field to our recommended meat processor to ensure that your animal gets to the facility quickly. Hunters are responsible for all meat processing and shipping costs.
