New Mexico HUNT

Rifle Bull Elk Hunts

Our Rifle Elk hunts take place in Unit 12 which is in west central New Mexico. We control access to over 500,000 acres of land in the unit. In Unit 12 we offer mainly private land rifle elk hunts but we do get a few unit wide tags that are very desirable. We have guaranteed landowner tags available for all of our rifle hunts but hunters can also use our draw service to obtain public land tags in the Outfitter Sponsored Draw. All of these hunts start at the beginning of October and run through the end of January. The October hunts occur during the rut cycle while the bulls are bugling and running with herds of cows. The November through January hunts are considered late season hunts and bulls are typically in bachelor groups. Both rut and late season hunts have very high success rates. There are unique advantages to hunting each of the different seasons.

Our rifle elk hunts all take place in high desert terrain at approximately 7500′ elevation with pinion and juniper vegetation. These hunts are not physically demanding. The land we do hunt is some of the easiest terrain to hunt elk in the country. The style of hunting is spot and stalk, calling and locating, and sitting water sources.
